As the Special Needs Ballroom Program continues to grow at Yes, You Can Dance!, each month we highlight one of our amazing students.
Meet Tami, who started dancing with Yes, You Can Dance! in the spring of 2016 and is a currently a student is the South Hills Level 3 Special Needs Ballroom class.
“What is so wonderful about Yes, You Can Dance! is the way the dances are taught,” explains Dodie Roskie, Tami’s mother. “Chris, the instructor, makes it fun with great direction, terrific music and many mentor-partners to dance with. He is a favorite with all dancers!”
Tami has always loved rhythm, music and dance. She participated in the Pitt dance-a-thon for the last two years. Yes, You Can Dance! gave Tami the opportunity to learn partner dances, such as the jitterbug and waltz, which are often the dances at family parties, weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.
Besides dancing, Tami can be found working at the University of Pittsburgh Student Office. She has been part of a bowling group on Saturdays for over 25 years! She also enjoys Special Olympics basketball, track and field, and going out with her Jewish Social Singles Network friends and her boyfriend.
Thank you Tami for your hard work and enthusiasm!
